Done done, London!

London is made up of two ancient cities which are now joined together. They are:

  • the City of London, known simply as "the City" which is the business and financial heart of the United Kingdom. It is also known as the Square Mile (2.59 sq km/1 sq mi). It was the original Roman settlement (ancient Londinium), making it the oldest part of London and already 1000 years old when the Tower of London was built.
  • the City of Westminster, where Parliament and most of the government offices are located. Also Buckingham Palace, the official London residence of the Queen and the Royal family are located there too.
Together they all make up a region known as Greater London.

Facts about London:

  • London is the biggest city in Britain and in Europe
  • London occupies over 620 square miles
  • About 12% of Britains overall population live in London
  • London has the highest population density in Britain, with 4,699 people per square kilometre
  • London is the seat of central government in Britain
  • The tallest building in London is the Canary Whart Tower
  • London is the first city in the world to have an underground railway, known as the "Tube"
  • Some of the most important people from countries all over the world visit the Queen at Buckingham Palace
  • There are over 100 theatres in London, including 50 in the West End. London theatres accounts for 45% of all UK theatre admissions and over 70% of box-office revenues.

Making of...

This is how art is being created! Most of the paintings doesnt look like ANYTHING in the beginning. Even I know all that, still sometimes I find myself being worried about the final look :)

Take a look....

Sketch me, baby :)

Howdy ya’ll! Here I bring you another sketch, made recently.
His name is
Ferman Akgül and he is a Turkish songwriter and the singer of the rock band maNga. He writes both lyrics and music. He is super popular and super cute person, very talented and dedicated. Few years back I had a chance to go to the concert of maNga and still I remember it as a best day (night) of my life :)Alrightie, that’s all for this post. Be sure to come back again, I'll keep posting on a regular basis :)

Something new!

These days I'm having a creativity attack and trying to focus that creativity on my paintings. Here I bring you the sketch of my b-e-a-utiful makeup and fashion guru all the way from India - Jovita! :) I'm so happy to find her 'cause she is one of the most entertaining, talented, intelligent, unique and amazing people I've ever seen in my life. What I've realized after watching her videos on youtube and getting to know her better is that we have some common interests: love for art (in this case paintings), obsession with cats (she has soooo damn cute siberian cat that I just wanna wanna wanna!), Bollywood movies and last but not least - makeup.

It took me around 2 and a half hours to make this sketch but in the end I'm happy with the final result and what I've figured out is that Jovita has so aaahhh-mazing face with perfect proportions. Donno do you guys find it good or not, but I did it with lots of love, as I never do anything if I dont give 100% of myself.

PS. Do check Jovita's channel on youtube, I'm sure you wont regret. If you are more interested in her work, here are the links of her blog, instagram and facebook page too.

Drawing mode

Camila Figueiredo Coelho

She is the very first makeup guru I've discovered on youtube and since that time she is my favourite. Love her creativity and passion in everything that she makes, her unique style and simply awesomeness. I do believe that makeup is art and face is canvas, all you gotta do is play with colours and enjoy it! Sooo... related to this I thought it would be cool to make a sketch of my beauty diva :) Hope you guys like it. Stay tuned for more! (and as Camila says: "Stay beautifuuuuuul! Muahhh")

Iconic image of India - The Taj Mahal

Here I bring you 10 interesting facts about
The Taj Mahal

  1. It is estimated to have taken more than 22,000 people to build this impressive building including labourers, painters, stonecutters, embroidery artists, and many others.
  2. According to legend it is believed that Emperor Shah Jahan had planned to construct another Taj Mahal in black marble on the other side of the river but the war with his sons interrupted his plans.
  3. The Taj Mahal takes on different colouring at different times of the day, from a pinkish hue in the morning, milky white in the evening and golden at night when lit by the moon. They say the changing colour resembles the changing mood of females - in particular the Emperor's queen.
  4. Built in memory of the Emperors third and most favourite wife Mumtāz Mahal, the Taj Mahal took 17 years to be completed.
  5. It is said that the death so crushed the Emperor that all his hair and beard were said to have grown snow white within just a few months.
  6. The four sides of the Taj Mahal are perfectly identical creating an astonishingly mirrored image on each side. It uses the principles of self-replicating geometry and symmetry of architectural elements.
  7. The Taj Mahal is surrounded by significant gardens and a number of other buildings including  a mosque and guest houses which make up the 17 hectares of land within the complex walls.
  8. The full height of the Taj Mahal is 171 metres (561 feet).
  9. More than 1,000 elephants were employed to transport the construction materials used to build the Taj.
  10. Many precious stones were ripped off from its walls by the British during the Indian rebellion of 1857.

“You might as well ask an artist to explain his art, or ask a poet to explain his poem. It defeats the purpose. The meaning is only clear thorough the search.”
― Rick Riordan

Everyone has their own way of expression their thoughts, believes, dreams. Finding ways to express it might be confusing and seems like a battle but whatever the result is, should be embraced and appreciated. I believe I've found my own way in expressing my deepest thoughts and hidden feelings. Painting is just one piece of it. This blog is a chance, as well as a try, for showing other people the world as I see it through my eyes. Hope you all enjoy in this pieces of my very own art (most of them I've made long ago) and maybe for some of you I can hopefully be an inspiration for loving and creating beautiful paintings.

Hope you like my first post and feel free to comment :) Stay blessed! xoxo
